With a new administration in 2025, there were a number of significant developments with federal grants. During this one-hour presentation, Venable’s grant law practitioners—Dismas (Diz) Locaria and Scott S. Sheffler—will take participants through various changes and challenges from 2025, including the impact of certain executive orders and related litigation, as well as government guidance, such as the July 2025 Bondi memo pertaining to nondiscrimination requirements and DEI. Also discussed will be the impact of these developments on related activities, such as contracting with disadvantaged business enterprises. Finally, Locaria and Sheffler will update participants on any changes or expected changes to the Uniform Guidance, 2 C.F.R. Part 200, as such changes were directed by executive order in summer 2025.
