Marketing agencies and other creative businesses often move quickly from an idea or partnership to an operating company, and the legal structure behind the business may receive little attention until a problem arises. Online formation tools can simplify the mechanics of creating an entity, but they may not adequately address questions of ownership, governance, jurisdiction, or what happens when business partners disagree.
This webinar will explore the foundational legal decisions marketing companies should consider when establishing a business, particularly when multiple owners are involved. The discussion will address selecting an appropriate entity and jurisdiction, defining ownership and management rights, developing governing agreements, planning for ownership changes and disputes, and recognizing when a seemingly inexpensive formation strategy may create greater costs and complications in the future.
