The Executive Compensation Puzzle: Putting the Pieces Together for Nonprofits

Salary, retirement benefits, deferred compensation, and other contractual arrangements can all form part of a nonprofit executive’s overall compensation package—and each piece can bring its own legal, tax, and administrative considerations. As compensation arrangements become more complex, nonprofit organizations may need to consider not only the individual components of a package but also how those components work together throughout an executive’s employment.

In this webinar, Harry Atlas of Venable LLP will break down key components of nonprofit executive compensation and discuss how organizations can approach them as part of a cohesive compensation strategy. Topics will include executive employment agreements, nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements, and other employee benefit considerations. The program will also explore practical issues nonprofits should keep in mind when structuring, implementing, and administering these arrangements, including potential tax and compliance concerns and considerations that can arise as an executive’s compensation needs evolve over time.
