On March 14, 2014, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia issued its ruling in Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility v. Beaudreau regarding litigation challenging the regulatory approval of the proposed Cape Wind Project in Nantucket Sound. The decision illustrates the numerous challenges developers of large-scale infrastructure projects may face when coordinating multiresource issues with multiple government agencies throughout the life cycle of a major project proposal. Lessons can be learned from the decision, lessons that may be invaluable during the development process for other large infrastructure projects in various industries.
