Kevin Shepherd published “Beneficial Ownership Disclosure and the Corporate Transparency Act: Overdue or Overwrought?” in the July/August 2021 issue of Probate & Property. The article analyzes the newly enacted Corporate Transparency Act and its potential impact on small businesses. Kevin chairs the ABA Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law’s Working Group on Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorist Financing Efforts Affecting Lawyers and is a former chair of the ABA’s Task Force on Gatekeeper Regulation and the Profession. Kevin has previously testified before the U.S. Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations on earlier versions of federal beneficial ownership legislation.
