When people ask me how I got interested in real estate, I usually say that building with Lego was the start — along with similar interests in the games Monopoly and Sim City. My hobbies morphed over time into a fascination with how buildings are built, from entitlements to completion — or as I like to say, "from dirt to done."
I've realized that building with Lego has also helped me grow in my professional life, and that many parts of my hobby are good metaphors for my practice.
