Artificial intelligence tools powered by large language models have become valuable resources in the trademark process. Today’s AI tools can speed crafting identifications of goods/services and the collection of evidence by quickly locating relevant content on a website. With those capabilities, it’s tempting to wonder whether AI tools can also be used to search USPTO trademark records and evaluate name availability.
Despite incredible progress in natural-language reasoning, AI tools still face fundamental limitations when it comes to performing even basic trademark searches.
