Kedrick Whitmore


Ked Whitmore is a member of Venable's Real Estate Practice Group, with experience assisting clients with legislative, administrative and regulatory issues during all phases of the real estate development process, including land planning, zoning, subdivision, permitting and associated administrative appeals.

In addition, Ked assists clients in the financing, acquisition, management, leasing and disposition of commercial real property. He has also represented lending institutions in the management and disposition of loans, including workouts, modifications and foreclosures.


Represented national real estate trust in obtaining zoning and land use approvals for development of a 699-unit apartment building with over 30,000 square feet of ground floor retail in Pentagon City, Arlington, Virginia.

Represented national real estate trust in a $15 million purchase of over 600,000 square feet of transferable development rights (TDRs) in Arlington County, Virginia.

General Counsel, Crystal City Business Improvement District.

Provided land use counsel to real estate development firm during construction and sale of $222 million apartment and townhouse development in Rosslyn, Arlington, Virginia.

Represented major U.S. investment management firm in the acquisition and management of a number of industrial properties.

Successfully negotiated a number of development agreements related to adjoining properties in the District of Columbia.

Obtained government approvals for conversion of a vacant office building to a mixed-use live/work space, with 216- apartment units and 25,000 square feet of co-working office space in Crystal City, Arlington, Virginia.
