Roy Auh advises clients on the fast-changing legal field of privacy, data security, and transportation. Equipped with a degree in computer science with exposure to building artificial intelligence systems, Roy helps clients achieve their cutting-edge business goals pragmatically within a changing state and federal regulatory landscape. Roy counsels companies on compliance with a patchwork of privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and myriad other state consumer privacy laws, as well as autonomous and connected vehicle technology regulations promulgated by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), and state departments of motor vehicles.

Roy also brings his diversified internship experience in government and consumer advocacy groups to view problems from a multistakeholder perspective to better assist clients in crafting nuanced solutions that best achieve their goals. Prior to joining Venable, Roy interned for Commissioner Geoffrey Starks at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and for the Honorable Reggie B. Walton at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. He has also interned for major policy advocacy groups in the fields of data privacy and adtech.
