Joyce also has extensive experience representing trustees, debtors-in-possession, and creditors in all stages of Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Prior to joining Venable, she served as special litigation counsel for the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico's historic municipal bankruptcy. She also has experience representing parties in assignments for the benefit of creditors proceedings and court-appointed receivers in receivership proceedings. Joyce has vast experience in all stages of litigation, including at the trial level.
As part of her pro bono practice, Joyce has represented victims of abuse in family court proceedings and helped asylum seekers and other immigrants from designated countries obtain Temporary Protected Status in the United States. She has also negotiated plea agreements in criminal proceedings, counseled parties in landlord-tenant disputes, and guided individuals through the bankruptcy process.
Joyce serves on the board of The Mingle Club, Inc., a Florida nonprofit organization dedicated to the social enrichment of adults with special needs.
