Justin Dersh

Justin Dersh focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, with an emphasis in life sciences matters. With previous experience in both the cosmetics and food ingredient solutions industries, Justin understands his clients’ needs and leverages his technical understanding to protect their intellectual property. He frequently draws upon his background in materials science and engineering when advising clients.

During law school, Justin served as a senior editor of the Rutgers University Law Review and a judicial intern to the Honorable Freda L. Wolfson of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Prior to law school, Justin worked as a senior chemist at a multinational food services ingredient provider. In that role, he developed recognizable "clean label" ingredient solutions to replace commonly used chemically modified ingredients in the food industry. In the luxury products division of a major cosmetics company, Justin developed and launched more than 30 innovative skincare and suncare formulations. He is also attributed as an inventor of a patented customizable skincare technology.
