Brian J. Healy

Associate
Healy Brian

Brian Healy’s practice focuses on product liability matters and representing clients in complex civil litigation, often involving pharmaceutical products, in federal and state courts across the country. Brian is a member of teams representing manufacturers of vaccines and other prescription medications in several single-plaintiff cases, multidistrict litigation (MDL), and statewide coordinated proceedings. He also recently assisted in the successful representation of a home exercise equipment manufacturer, both in an underlying claim for personal injury and in the corresponding action to obtain insurance coverage for the underlying claim. Previously, Brian assisted in the representation of a national meat and poultry processor in federal court in Maryland, which culminated with the company being awarded up to $15 million in insurance coverage for antitrust claims.

Brian’s experience in these matters includes assisting in the development of the overall case strategy and working on all facets of pretrial litigation, including drafting pre-answer motions to dismiss, leading company discovery efforts (e.g., drafting discovery requests, responding to written discovery, managing large-scale document productions, developing experts, preparing witnesses for deposition, and taking fact witness depositions), and drafting motions for summary judgment. For example, Brian was the lead drafter of the successful motion for summary judgment in the above-referenced coverage matter, obligating the insurer to advance defense costs to the client as incurred in the underlying antitrust actions up to $15 million.

Prior to joining the firm, Brian served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Stephanie A. Gallagher of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.
