Peter Hrubiec

Pete Hrubiec focuses his practice on strategic patent counseling and the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications. With deep experience at the intersection of technology and intellectual property, Pete helps clients develop, protect, and leverage patent portfolios aligned with their business objectives. He has represented multinational Fortune 100 companies across the aerospace, financial, transportation, and construction sectors, as well as emerging companies and innovators in mechanical, software, and electromechanical technologies. His work includes managing complex patent portfolios, evaluating and preparing invention disclosures, drafting and prosecuting patent applications, and advising on patentability, freedom-to-operate, and competitive landscape considerations.

Before entering private practice, Pete served as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), where he examined applications in the mechanical and aerospace arts, including technologies involving motors, pumps, and aerospace components. His experience at the USPTO gives him valuable insight into the examination process and strengthens his strategic approach to prosecution.

Prior to joining the firm, Pete was a patent associate at a boutique patent counseling and prosecution practice in Washington, DC. His combined industry exposure, in-house government perspective, and private-practice experience enable him to provide practical, business-focused IP guidance to clients ranging from startups to global enterprises.
