Justine Kawa

Justine Kawa takes a thorough and meticulous approach to defending clients' intellectual property. Justine is a member of a team that advises pharmaceutical companies and other research entities on a variety of issues, including diligence, settlement negotiations, Hatch-Waxman Act suits, and cases on appeal. Before joining Venable, Justine was a forensic scientist at the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner, giving her a unique, client-centered approach and a niche understanding of DNA technologies and biotechnology companies. Justine also appreciates the firm’s support of pro bono work, which she provides to those in need.
