Alexis McJoynt

Alexis McJoynt practices intellectual property law, with a focus on patent litigation in the life sciences. Alex works closely with clients to understand their goals and leverages her technical understanding to protect their intellectual property. Alex is adept at counseling clients and researching and drafting motions and briefs, including a motion for summary judgment in defense of a pharmaceutical company in a patent infringement dispute. Her experience also includes Hatch-Waxman litigation, ANDA filings, multidistrict litigation (MDL), inter partes reviews, patent prosecution and counseling, and all stages of trial.

As a registered patent attorney, Alex has prosecuted patent applications in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and in international and foreign patent offices. She was an associate practicing patent prosecution and counseling at a boutique IP firm prior to joining Venable.
