Alexis McJoynt

Alexis McJoynt is a patent litigator with a focus in the life sciences sector. Alex works closely with clients to understand their goals and leverages her technical understanding to protect their intellectual property. She has litigated cases involving the chemical and pharmaceuticals arts, including patents involving solid-state chemistry and co-crystal technology, and has vast experience litigating cases brought under the Hatch-Waxman Act. Her experience also includes inter partes reviews and multidistrict litigations (MDLs). Alex has litigated patent disputes at all stages from inception through trial.

As a registered patent attorney, Alex has prosecuted patent applications in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and in international and foreign patent offices. Prior to joining Venable, Alex worked as an associate at a boutique IP firm, where her practice focused on patent prosecution and counseling.
