Samantha Moskowitz

Samantha Moskowitz focuses her practice on complex matters related to trademark prosecution and counseling domestically and internationally. Samantha brings a breadth of relevant experience to Venable, having served as a trademark examining attorney at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) prior to joining the firm. At the USPTO, she examined new trademark applications for registration to ensure compliance with the Trademark Act, prepared and issued Office Actions, and defended cases filed for ex parte appeal before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).

Before joining Venable, Samantha gained experience as a trademark attorney at a full-service intellectual property law firm where she managed, protected, and enforced clients' intellectual property rights, with a focus on trademark and copyright matters. She also prepared, filed, and prosecuted trademark applications; prepared and filed responses to Office Actions; and assisted in litigating appeals, oppositions, and cancellations before TTAB. In addition, she assisted in developing branding and trademark strategies, conducted trademark clearance searches, and provided opinions on the availability of proposed trademarks and the potential for infringement. Samantha also assisted in drafting letters of consent and licensing agreements and prepared cease and desist letters.
