Sophia Porotsky focuses her practice on complex civil litigation. Sophia represents plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts in New York and nationwide, serving clients across a diverse range of industries, including financial services, hospitality, healthcare, life sciences, and media and entertainment. Her experience spans a wide variety of high-stakes disputes, including securities fraud, trade secret misappropriation, business torts, breach of fiduciary duty, complex contract claims, and international commercial disputes. Sophia also advises clients on corporate governance and investigations and represents them in federal and state government enforcement matters.
While in law school, Sophia was an award-winning trial advocate and served on the executive board of the Brendan Moore Trial Advocates. She was also a member of the Moot Court team. Through Fordham Law School's Federal Litigation Clinic, she spent two semesters representing indigent clients in civil and criminal proceedings in federal district court and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
