Chelsea Rimel

Chelsie Rimel is a regulatory compliance and enforcement attorney for matters concerning consumer financial services. Chelsie represents banks, payment companies, and financial technology (fintech) firms before regulatory authorities in actions related to the Electronic Fund Transfers Act (EFTA) Reg E, Truth in Lending Act (TILA) Reg Z, and Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), among others. She drafts and reviews vendor and customer agreements related to financial services technology and evaluates contracts and materials for regulatory compliance.

Chelsie also has experience in securities enforcement, litigation, and internal investigations. Prior to joining Venable, Chelsie worked at an international law firm, where she represented individuals, investment advisors, broker-dealers, public companies, cryptocurrency exchanges, and other institutions subject to investigations and other actions from state and federal securities regulators. Additionally, Chelsie handled internal investigations for companies, their boards of directors, and their committees regarding an array of civil and criminal issues assessing legal exposure and disclosure considerations.

During law school, she interned with the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, VA, where she wrote memoranda and researched the bank’s operations, with a focus on supervisory, employment, and cybersecurity operations. She also served as a judicial intern with the Honorable Michael A. Della Vecchia, Judge of the Court of Common Pleas, Fifth Judicial District of Pennsylvania.
