Marco Sylvester provides government affairs strategy, relationship development, and policy research to clients in the connected and autonomous vehicle ecosystem. Marco manages federal affairs for industry coalitions in the automotive technology sector. Drawing on his experience at the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), he advises clients on matters before the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), including on autonomous vehicle policy, electrification and charging infrastructure for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, and infrastructure technology.

Marco also serves clients in congressional affairs, for both authorization and appropriations issues before key committees, including the Senate Commerce Committee, the House Energy and Commerce Committee, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and the House and Senate Appropriations Committees.

Prior to Venable, he served as senior advisor to the chief of staff in the Office of the Secretary of Transportation at the DOT. Previously, he was a legislative assistant to Congressman Robert Pittenger (R-NC), where he served as the transportation and trade policy advisor.
