Claire Serruto

Associate

Claire Serruto advises on intellectual property matters, including copyright and trademark disputes, brand protection, and patent litigation. Claire handles disputes in a broad range of industries, in federal court and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). Claire has experience researching discrete legal issues, assisting with drafting initial pleadings and trademark assignments.

During law school, Claire gained invaluable intellectual property law experience as a student attorney at the Glushko-Samuelson Intellectual Property Law Clinic. In this role, Claire represented a nonprofit defendant in a trademark infringement action against a major music festival, drafted a fair use opinion letter for an independent documentary filmmaker, and submitted a trademark clearance opinion for a Maryland nonprofit. Prior to joining Venable as a summer associate, Claire served as a legal extern at a music industry trade association and a legal intern at a film industry trade association.
