Venable secures 5 national, 36 local “Best Law Firms” rankings from US News and World Report

Venable has been included among the country’s leading law firms in rankings published yesterday by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers.

Venable earned national Tier 1 honors for its Advertising and Marketing practice. The firm also received national recognition for its Employment, Bankruptcy, Banking and Commercial Litigation practices.

The rankings are based on a combination of client surveys, peer interviews and editorial research conducted by Best Lawyers over the past year, and includes almost 8,000 law firms of all sizes from across the nation.

In addition to its national practice scores, Venable was ranked a leading firm in both Maryland and Washington, D.C. In all, 19 practice groups earned Tier 1 rankings in Maryland and seven in DC.

Venable’s Maryland Tier 1 rankings included: Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization; Corporate; White Collar Criminal Defense; Employee Benefits; Labor/Employment; Energy; Environmental; Commercial Litigation; Health Care; Mass Tort Litigation and Class Actions; Mergers & Acquisitions; Non-Profit/Charities; Private Equity; Real Estate; Structured Finance; Tax; and Venture Capital.

The firm also received recognition for its Maryland-based Public Finance, Technology, and Trusts & Estates practices.

In Washington, DC, Venable received top-tier rankings for: Advertising; Banking & Finance; Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization; Environmental; General Commercial Litigation; Real Estate; and Trusts & Estates.

Also recognized in the U.S. News/Best Lawyers rankings are DC-based Corporate, White Collar Criminal Defense; Employee Benefits; Management-Side Employment and Labor; Mergers & Acquisitions; and Tax practices.
