Ivan J. Wasserman Joins Venable's Expanding Food and Drug Practice

Washington, D.C., January 28, 2002 . . . Venable today announced the expansion of its food and drug practice with the addition Ivan J. Wasserman as a partner in the Washington, D.C. office.

Mr. Wasserman will continue his broad-based practice focusing on regulatory issues involving the manufacturing, marketing, labeling, safety, and advertising of foods, drugs, cosmetics, medical devices, and consumer products before the Food and Drug Administration, Consumer Product Safety Commission, and Federal Trade Commission.

"I'm really pleased to have Ivan as the newest partner in the food and drug practice," said David G. Adams, chair of Venable's food and drug law practice. "His experience, creativity and savvy will help us in a number of areas."

Prior to joining Venable, Mr. Wasserman practiced in the food and drug law group at Arent Fox Kintner Plotkin & Kahn, PLLC in Washington, D.C. He is a member of the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization and FDLI, where he is a frequent speaker on FDA regulatory issues at the institute's conferences.

Mr. Wasserman received his J.D., with honors, from George Washington University Law School in 1993 and his B.A. from Vassar College in 1989. He is admitted to the District of Columbia and Maryland bars.
