Melissa Landau Steinman, a partner in the firm’s Advertising and Media practice, has been elected to serve on the Board of the Directors of the Promotion Marketing Association, the leading nonprofit organization devoted to fostering a better understanding of promotion and integrated marketing and its role in the overall marketing process.
Ms. Steinman focuses her practice on assisting companies at every stage of distributing their products, reviewing advertising and marketing materials for all types of media, vetting pricing and "sales" claims, creating product warranties and advising clients on product safety issues, and addressing related intellectual property and privacy matters.
A leading pundit on advertising law and the issues surrounding promotional marketing, Steinman authored the Guide to Federal and State Regulation of Advertising, a comprehensive guide to the law of advertising and promotions in the United States. She has also contributed to PMA's Promotion Marketing Law and the American Bar Association's Consumer Protection Law Developments.
In addition to serving on PMA’s Board, Steinman is active in the organization’s Legal and Government Affairs Center of Excellence.
Ms. Steinman is also a member of the Antitrust Division of the ABA, including the Consumer Protection and Privacy Subcommittees, the Maryland Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association, and the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia.
