An article written by staffers from the Center for Public Integrity and published in the June 8 edition of Politico named Venable among the top 10 Washington lobbying firms based on the number of clients the firms represent in regard to the financial regulatory reform bill. In total, the ten firms represent 130 different clients in the financial regulatory reform debate.
Clark Lytle & Geduldig represented the most clients. Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck was second on the list. Ogilvy Government Relations; Peck, Madigan, Jones & Stewart Inc.; Rich Feuer Group; Williams & Jensen; Quinn Gillespie & Associates; Elmendorf Strategies; Venable; and the Smith-Free Group rounded out the top 10.
According to the piece, 850 businesses and organizations have spent more than $1.3 billion in 2009 and the first quarter of 2010 on lobbying teams to work on financial reform and other issues.
