Newsday quotes Geoff Garinther in Roger Clemens story

Venable litigation partner and former assistant U.S. attorney Geoff Garinther was quoted in an August 22 Newsday story about the possibility that baseball player Roger Clemens will face jail time for lying to Congress about his steroid use.

Throughout the piece, commentators echoed the theme that Clemens had numerous opportunities to limit damage to his reputation, but instead took an aggressive line with Congress that resulted in his indictment last week.

"It was one thing to take steroids," Garinther told Newsday. "It's quite another to give false testimony to Congress."
