A January 14 Law360 article discussed a complaint filed by Venable on behalf of Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB, accusing Clearwire Corp. of "attempting to gain an unfair competitive edge in the smartphone and mobile broadband markets by infringing a federally trademarked green-and-white swirl logo."

According to the complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Clearwire has allegedly continued the use of infringing logos in its advertisements despite saying it would stop. The complaint cites trademark infringement and unfair competition under the Lanham Act, copyright infringement, and violations of Georgia's unfair competition law.

The complaint was filed by Roger Colaizzi and Chris Crook, with contributions from Andrew Price, Marty Saad, Elissa Reese, Meaghan Kent, David Conway, Mary Ellen Himes and Sarah Hendon.
