On November 21, 2011, Venable hosted a delegation of senior officials from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The delegation included the Secretary General of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Holdings, the holding company created to commercialize CAS inventions, and the leaders of a dozen of the CAS institutions, including those involved with information technology, pharmaceuticals, and energy.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss best practices in the field of technology transfer, venture finance, and important new developments in intellectual property law. The visit was organized by international business consultant Michael J. Lyon.
