Venable acted as Maryland counsel to OmniAmerican Bancorp, Inc. in connection with its recent merger with and into Southside Bancshares, Inc., which closed on December 17, 2014. Following the merger, the combined company has approximately $5 billion in assets and is the ninth-largest bank headquartered in Texas, by deposits.
