Alexander Botting's arrival at Venable as senior director of international cybersecurity services was featured in Journal of Cyber Policy and DC CityBizList on December 19; Politico, The CyberWire, and Attorney at Law Magazine on December 20; and Corporate Counsel Business Journal and The Deal on December 23.
Mr. Botting most recently served as director for global regulatory cooperation at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where he led initiatives in the areas of cybersecurity, emerging technologies, and regulatory cooperation. He has extensive experience in international policy, having executed advocacy campaigns on technology policy issues in more than 50 countries spanning five continents. During his tenure at the Chamber, Mr. Botting launched its global cybersecurity and law enforcement access initiatives, championing the use of international standards and best practices on behalf of several dozen member companies. He also provided guidance to senior Chamber and member company executives on technology policy issues, while managing relationships with officials in the White House, Department of Commerce, Department of State, and Office of the United States Trade Representative.
