On August 11, 2021, Venable was featured in Law360’s analysis of the Lex Machina Consumer Protection Litigation Report 2021 among law firms at the center of consumer protection suits between the years of 2018 and 2020.
According to the report, the most active plaintiff during this three-year period has been the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which has lodged 157 cases alleging violations of the various consumer protection statutes it's charged with enforcing, according to the report. Venable has defended 12 cases in seven district courts brought by the FTC or the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the most of any firm during this time.
