On November 30, 2023, Evan Shea was profiled in the Daily Record as a part of its annual Criminal Law Power List. Shea answered several questions about his career at Venable as a trial and appellate attorney.
Asked about the most important aspect of his job, Shea said it was helping clients “make the most important decisions in their personal and professional lives armed with the best information and soundest judgment possible.”
Shea also said “the level of professionalism between opposing counsel” was one thing he’d like to see change in the legal profession. “You can be a top-notch advocate for your client while treating opposing counsel with courtesy and respect,” he said. “In fact, I would argue you cannot be a great lawyer unless you do. All lawyers should be trained that way.”
