Venable LLP is pleased to announce that Richard Wells has joined the firm’s Washington, DC office as a partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation – Technology Group. Mr. Wells’ practice sits at the intersection of patent litigation, prosecution, counseling, and due diligence.
He is a seasoned litigator with more than two decades of experience practicing intellectual property law. Mr. Wells also has extensive experience asserting and defending against patent infringement claims in federal district courts, and before both the International Trade Commission and the Patent Trials and Appeals Board. His work touches a number of different industries, such as medical devices, oilfields, heavy industry, and software.

Mr. Wells received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and his B.S. from the University of Texas at Austin.
