When asked about the biggest lesson he has learned during his career, Cross said, “Success is never guaranteed, but hard work and perseverance matter the most. In the legal profession and public service, there is tremendous value in always taking the time to work the problem and search for the best answer to the toughest questions. It takes time and effort to get to the right answer. The world is full of smart people. To stand out, you need to work the hardest and care the most.”
Cross is a partner at Venable who has spent 37 years helping clients navigate complex litigation while maintaining a steadfast commitment to public service in Maryland. He is currently serving as partner-in-charge of the firm’s Baltimore office.
