1 min

On May 14, 2025, Jonathan Pompan was quoted by Bloomberg Law in an article about CFPB rulemakings, including one on  the CFPB’s proposed rule to rescind amendments to its Procedures for Supervisory Designation Proceedings, originally adopted in 2022 and 2024.  Collectively, the rules proposed for rescission provided for public release of final decisions and orders by the CFPB director and made other changes to the CFPB's procedures for designating nonbank covered persons for supervision.

Remarking on the proposal, Pompan commented, “Symbolically, this reinforces the current leadership’s intent to emphasize transparency and procedural safeguards.”  The article also reports on the CFPB’s plans to roll back a proposed data broker rule.
