Venable LLP recently secured a successful pro bono outcome for a client through its collaboration with Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc., highlighting the firm’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to justice.
The matter began at a Venable-hosted Small Claims Clinic led by partners Allison Day and Mariaelena Gayo-Guitian, where they assisted clients with pro se filings along with partner Leonela Vaccaro Padrón and associate Avi Zemel.
Ms. Vaccaro Padrón initially helped a Spanish-speaking client prepare a claim to recover a security deposit from their landlord. When the case became more complex, associate Monica Diaz stepped in to provide extended representation, supporting the client through mediation. Their combined efforts resulted in a full settlement of $1,800 in the client’s favor.
