Brian O'Connor and Norman Lencz spoke on November 5 at the Advanced Tax Institute's week-long tax seminar sponsored jointly by the Maryland Association of CPAs (MACPA) and the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA).
Their presentation, which was entitled "Carried Interest Legislation," addressed issues practitioners need to be aware of in order to protect their clients from the harsh impact of proposed legislation to recharacterize income from so-called "carried interests" as ordinary service income.
