Ellen Berge, Alexandra Megaris, and Shannon Yavorsky presented at the ANA Legal Share Group Meeting, "Best Practices in Automating Your Legal Compliance Programs," at Microsoft's offices in Washington. The team addressed how to best operationalize advertising and marketing compliance in the current regulatory environment, including (1) bringing programs up to date with current legal standards; (2) regulatory expectations for compliance programs in the areas of privacy, mobile marketing, and influencer marketing; (3) when to self-report potential violations of the law; and (4) the benefits of being able to show that a company has a compliance program when legal violations take place and/or investigations are opened.
