Children’s Privacy: A Look Ahead

Julia Tama participated in a webinar hosted by the American Bar Association's Antitrust Law Section. With fellow panelists from law firms and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Julia discussed the FTC's July 2019 announcement that it was accelerating its review of its children's privacy rule, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), in order to keep up with the rapidly changing technology environment. The panelists also discussed the underpinnings of children's privacy law in the United States, the challenges of implementation, and potential areas that are ready for improvement.
