The Present and Future of Autonomous Vehicles

This event has already occurred.

Venable attorney Katie Marshall will present “The Present and Future of Autonomous Vehicles” at the Internet of Things 2022: Everything Is Connected program, to be hosted by the Practising Law Institute on May 13, 2022 in New York City and on June 21, 2022 in San Francisco.

Autonomous driving will play a vital role in the mobility of the future. Technological progress is moving quickly, and major investment activity in autonomous vehicle (AV) developers continues. These developers are beginning to test truly driverless vehicles on the streets and highways of America. As AV industry activity advances from an R&D focus toward and into commercialization, it presents a host of evolving legal issues. Katie will highlight the current status of the most significant of these, including federal and state regulation of AVs, IP development and trends, data privacy and cybersecurity, liability to third parties, and insurance.
