As in-person connection has been less accessible over the last few years, businesses have relied on other means to connect with clients to build trusted relationships, including through telemarketing. However, this comes with a host of considerations for businesses, including compliance with consumer regulations, privacy regulations, general advertising regulations, and more. Telemarketing complaints and lawsuits are quickly growing around the globe.
Over the last year, there were significant legislative, litigation, and regulatory and self-regulatory developments related to advertising law. GALA members from Canada, France, Mexico, New Zealand, Turkey, and the United States provided an overview of some of the key developments in advertising law over the last year, including environmental marketing, regulatory enforcement priorities, privacy issues, and more.
