The regulatory landscape for financial services and payments is undergoing a significant reset. Federal banking regulators are moving away from reputation risk and prescriptive, process-driven supervision in favor of more risk-based approaches, while consumer protection regulators have sharpened their enforcement priorities and emphasized actual consumer harm. These shifts may create new opportunities for banks, fintechs, payment companies, and lawful businesses that historically have faced heightened regulatory or banking scrutiny. They may also raise new questions about risk appetite, fair access, third-party oversight, and how companies demonstrate that their risks are appropriately managed. This webinar will examine new regulatory trends, what they mean in practice for financial institutions, payments companies, fintechs, and their business partners, and where the regulatory environment appears to be heading next. We will also identify areas that deserve particular attention as the landscape changes, including bank-fintech partnerships, high-risk merchant relationships, digital assets, new payment models, and the growing challenge of navigating an increasingly fragmented state regulatory landscape.
