After an intense rulemaking, supervisory and enforcement cycle for the federal banking agencies in 2023, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. issued a final rule on official FDIC signs and advertising requirements right before the new year.
The rule comes on the heels of a campaign to police these issues, especially on digital platforms involving nonbank competitors, vendors and partners serving banks, and novel financial products.
