Heitger Lindsay

Lindsay Heitger concentrates her practice on commercial real estate. Lindsay advises clients on matters related to joint ventures, commercial real estate acquisitions, acquisitions for conservation purposes and related conservation easements, dispositions, development, financing, and commercial leasing. Her practice also includes assisting clients with real estate contract disputes, with a focus on successful resolution in order to avoid litigation.

Lindsay's ability to advise clients on real estate matters is augmented by her background in bankruptcy law and related litigation. Prior to joining Venable, she completed a clerkship for the Honorable Robert G. Mayer in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Representative Matters

  • Represented an international homebuilding company in corporate acquisitions, structuring and negotiation of joint ventures, financing, complex company restructuring and all U.S. related governance requirements
  • Assisted developer client with negotiation and drafting of complex joint ventures related to the purpose built single-family rental business
  • Represented a national environmental nonprofit in stewarding acquisitions of tens of thousands of acres of land, in the aggregate, to be used for conservation purposes in perpetuity
  • Handled all diligence, governance, structure, and closing logistics for real estate-related elements of complex, real estate-intensive mergers and acquisitions
  • Served as U.S. counsel for a homebuilder in connection with its obtainment and ongoing management of a $225 million credit facility providing financing for more than 30 assets
