Dennis Lazarev

Dennis Lazarev helps clients draft patent applications and respond to U.S Patent Trademark Office (USPTO) office actions. Dennis is also experienced in drafting written opinions to the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) and European Patent Office (EPO). With a focus on life sciences, he has handled matters related to cancer diagnostics, vaccine manufacturing, medical device coatings, genetic screening, and additional medical devices and therapies. Dennis also guides clients through patent prosecution in the United States and abroad and conducts due diligence research, including patentability and freedom to operate.

As a judicial extern at USPTO, Dennis wrote scientific and legal memoranda for the Office of Patent Legal Administration to assist with the formulation of policy response to the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Myriad v. AMP. Prior to studying law, Dennis spent a decade working in science labs as a lead project scientist and postdoctoral research scientist. He also secured funding and coordinated large collaborative research efforts involving multiple laboratories in U.S. and international universities.
