John Walsh

Senior Attorney
John Walsh

John Walsh assists his clients with all aspects of the construction, development, and ongoing operation of commercial and residential real property, including drafting and negotiating design, engineering, consulting, and construction agreements; right to enter and neighbor access agreements for site protection and underpinning; and construction close-out agreements. John also represents clients that are working to resolve a broad array of construction- and development-related disputes. He has extensive experience representing clients in connection with commercial office, hospitality, industrial, infrastructure, cultural, retail, life sciences, educational, and mixed-use projects.

John has assisted clients with projects that range from small interior fit-outs to complex, skyline-altering multi-tower developments. He manages multi-year, large-scale renovations of operating resorts and other large-scale hospitality assets, including those following multi-stage property improvement plans (PIPs), assists clients with build-outs of leased or owned office space, and represents high-net worth individuals in connection with the construction and renovation of single-family residences.

John drafts and negotiates all agreements required to take any construction or renovation project from inception to final completion and agreements related to the ongoing operation of real property assets. These include owner-contractor and property management agreements as well as agreements with the key members of the project’s design team, non-professional consultants, and maintenance and repair service providers. He counsels clients with respect to disputes regarding defective work, non-performance, contract renewal, disputed payment claims, cost escalations, project delays, and other similar issues, and reviews lease and loan agreements for compliance.
