Mark Williamson has extensive experience in both patent procurement and client counseling in the electrical and mechanical arts, having procured more than 2000 patents. Mark counsels clients regarding worldwide portfolio management and strategic development, licensing, and enforcement. He has been very successful in appeals before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board and has been involved or counselled in various reexaminations, reissues, interferences, ITC proceedings, and post-grant reviews.  He has worked in a variety of technologies, including ink jet and laser printing, photocopying, medical devices, turbochargers, and  HVAC systems.

Before joining Venable, Mark spent his entire private practice career at Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto.
