Forbes and Companies & Causes quote Jonathan Pompan and Kristalyn Loson on new "best practices" for cause marketing in New York

In their October 19, 2012 issues, Forbes and Companies & Causes quoted Venable of counsel Jonathan Pompan and associate Kristalyn Loson on the new list of "best practices" for cause marketing campaigns, which were recently announced by New York's Attorney General, Eric Schneiderman. The new standards have already been adopted by the two largest breast cancer charities, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Pompan and Loson felt that Schneiderman took a "unique approach to enforcement" by acquiring support from Komen and BCRF, saying "If these two organizations follow the Best Practices for any cause marketing efforts in which they engage, this will have the practical effect of forcing most of the 150 companies in the ‘pink ribbon’ cause marketing space to comply with the Best Practices even if they are not strictly legally enforceable…".

Both publications also noted that Pompan and Loson will be participating in a webinar for The Cause Marketing Forum on November 6, and will address questions surrounding the new marketing guidelines.
