Venable and Exelon Team Up to Help Diversity Pipeline Program

1 min

On November 16-19, 2020, a team comprising attorneys from Venable and energy company Exelon will teach a Street Law program to high school students enrolled in Washington Leadership Academy, a DC charter school. This follows a similar program a joint Venable/Exelon team taught in late 2018. This year’s program will feature virtual classroom teaching and student activities on the subjects of contracts and Fourth Amendment law.  This is part of Street Law, Inc.’s Legal Diversity Pipeline Program, designed to encourage the pursuit of legal careers by young people from groups that are currently underrepresented in the legal profession. Legal volunteers provide role modeling, career pathway information, support, and the opportunity to step into the shoes of a legal professional and engage in simulated legal problem-solving.  The Venable team includes Emily Wilson, Anton Lesaca, Waymon Peer, Nicki Green Johnson,  Brian Tengel, Nikita Bhojani, Stephen Salsbury, and Nora Garrote. Thank you to the team for participating.
