Governor Hogan Appoints Kyle Scherer Commissioner of Maryland’s Commission on Criminal Sentencing Policy

Kyle E. Scherer has been appointed by Maryland governor Larry Hogan to serve as one of two public commissioners on the state’s Commission on Criminal Sentencing Policy.  This bipartisan, independent agency was established by the General Assembly in 1999 and is responsible for maintaining and amending the state’s voluntary sentencing guidelines.  Mr. Scherer’s four-year appointment became effective July 1, 2021.
