This event has already occurred.

More and more nonprofit employers now find themselves facing legal claims for family and medical leave, pregnancy discrimination, caregiver discrimination, and other alleged violations of family-oriented employment laws. During this presentation, Venable attorneys will discuss recent litigation trends for nonprofits under family-oriented employment laws and offer tips for how to minimize the risk of a lawsuit. Specific topics will include:

  • Pregnancy discrimination;

  • Disability and disability-association discrimination; and

  • Interference with FMLA rights, related to the transfer or reinstatement of an employee after a period of family or medical leave, the termination of an employee after notice of the need for family or medical leave, or the employer’s refusal to grant leave.
