More and more nonprofit employers now find themselves facing legal claims for family and medical leave, pregnancy discrimination, caregiver discrimination, and other alleged violations of family-oriented employment laws. During this presentation, Venable attorneys will discuss recent litigation trends for nonprofits under family-oriented employment laws and offer tips for how to minimize the risk of a lawsuit. Specific topics will include:

  • Pregnancy discrimination;


  • Disability and disability-association discrimination; and


  • Interference with FMLA rights, related to the transfer or reinstatement of an employee after a period of family or medical leave, the termination of an employee after notice of the need for family or medical leave, or the employer’s refusal to grant leave.
